Railway line to Świeradów-Zdrój - important for the region

 

Long-awaited railway line to Świeradów-Zdrój will be built later this year. To the delight of residents and tourists alike, the holidays Christmas will be reached by train in Mountains Izera. This is the first such investment in the Jelenia Góra region, led by the provincial government in cooperation with local authorities. Taken over from the national railway, the line connects Świeradów-Zdrój with Gryfów and had been out of service for almost a quarter of a century.

Revitalisation in full swing!

The project is progressing well. Only a year ago, the dilapidated railway line was overgrown with thicket, and today the first kilometres of track can already be seen. The revitalisation of the Jizera Railway requires a financial outlay of around PLN 25 million. It is worth mentioning that the local government of the Lower Silesian voivodship has also taken possession of the disused railway line from Jelenia Góra to Karpacz. Work to dismantle the old tracks has already begun on this route.
