Monument to the Assumption of Poland by the Sea

Located in Kolobrzeg Monument Poland's Wedding to the Sea is a modernist work from 1963. It commemorates the symbolic wedding of Poland to the sea, which took place on 18 March 1945. It is located in the park bearing the name of Stefan Żeromski, also known as the Spa Park, by the seaside promenade - the Jan Szymański Boulevard, which stretches from the lighthouse to the walking pier. The design of the monument is the work of architect Viktor Tolkin.

It is interesting to note a local legend which states that by passing with held breath through the window of the monument from one side to the other, a previously conceived wish can be expected to come true.

Monument to a female paramedic

The monument pays tribute to the women who fought as part of the Polish Army for the country's freedom during the Second World War, with an emphasis on the battles for Kołobrzeg. It shows a kneeling figure of a girl dressed in a military uniform, with a bag slung over her shoulder, on which a cross is visible. It depicts a female nurse giving aid to a wounded soldier. The figure was inspired by paramedic Private Ewelina Nowak, who died in March 1945 during the battle for Kołobrzeg, rescuing a wounded comrade from the battlefield.

Fisherman's Monument

In Kolobrzeg's fishing port, located on Szyprów Street, you can see a fascinating monument. Made of bronze, the life-size figures depict a scene from the life of a fisherman: a man in fisherman's clothing is holding a net, accompanied by a seated woman. In practice, the net they are holding also serves as a place to sit and rest for a while.

Statue of St John of Nepomuk

The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in Kolobrzeg is a valuable monument that also has important cultural and religious significance. Located at the entrance to the Józef Piłsudski Bridge, the monument depicts Saint John of Nepomuk, who is considered the patron saint of bridges and rivers, as well as the protector of the secret of confession. The figure of the saint has been realised in a distinctive style, with a cross in one hand and a palm of martyrdom in the other.

In Kołobrzeg, this monument has a special significance as the city was prone to floods and St John of Nepomuk is considered the patron saint of protection against floods. The monument is also an important element of the urban space, being a landmark for residents and tourists and a place for reflection and prayer.

Millennium Monument

The monument to the Millennium of the Polish State with an image of Pope John Paul II in Kołobrzeg is an important religious and national symbol. It is located in one of the central points of the city, in the John Paul II park, in the immediate vicinity of the concathedral basilica.

The monument was unveiled in 1966 as part of the celebration of the Millennium of the Polish State, and was later dedicated to the memory of John Paul II. The sculpture depicts John Paul II in a characteristic pose, with his right hand raised in a gesture of blessing. The statue is made of bronze and is placed on a high plinth with inscriptions dedicated to the Pope and the Millennium of the Polish State.

Marian Gulls of Kolobrzeg

"Kolobrzeg's Mariana Seagulls" are charming little sculptures of seagulls that adorn various corners of Kolobrzeg. These subtle artistic elements effectively emphasise the character of the city as a modern and attractive seaside resort. Their creator is Romuald Wisniewski, and they were made according to designs by Dariusz Jakubowski.

The sculptures of seagulls, are distinguished by their exceptional care in workmanship. They are cast in bronze, which gives them a unique charm. Although they are not large - measuring only 30 to 40 cm - they are unforgettable accents in the urban landscape.
