Dunes in Dźwirzyno

The dunes in Dźwirzyno, located between this town and Grzybowo, are indeed a charming natural attraction. Surrounded by picturesque beaches, these sand formations hide many secrets.

One of the most interesting is dune wandering known as the 'Frying Pan'. Every year it moves about 2 metres in a north-easterly direction. This unusual phenomenon is evidence of the constant dynamism and variability of coastal landscapes.

In the past, there was a ban on moving around the dunes in order to protect them. This highlights the importance of preserving these fragile and remarkable ecosystems for future generations. Without proper management and protection, dunes can be vulnerable to erosion and destruction.
